Ever wondered what Vincent Van Gogh might have envisioned when he painted “Starry Night”? Now you can experience this yourself with ArtVision! ArtVision turns the real world into an artistic painting with the help of AI and Extended Reality. With a technique called “neural style transfer” neural networks can learn the style of artistic paintings (or any image really) and apply it to arbitrary images or video streams. With the help of the Unity3D game engine and a lot of GPU compute, we created an XR experience that allows you to view the world around you as an artistic painting. To create the stereoscopic 3D effect, we are using both cameras of the HTC Vive Pro headset and stylize both video streams in parallel and in real-time. Just slip on the VR goggles and dive into our vast selection of famous paintings – and some not so famous ones. Use the remote to switch between different styles. Need more art in your life?
